Who We Are
Harbor Leadership Academy is an independent, specialized school located at The Crossover Complex in Cedar Park, Texas. Our program is ideal for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities, emotional/maturity maladjustment, dyslexia, autistic spectrum and or attention deficit disorder, with or without hyperactivity (ADHD). We also intensively address the social aspects these struggles affect as well through counseling, ABA and DBT and working closely with each student’s medial team.
Every student is thoroughly assessed and evaluated in order to design personalized education and training for every student based on their strengths, struggles and gaps in learning with a very low teacher-to-pupil ratio. We use direct and explicit instruction using multisensory learning techniques providing immediate feedback and a higher rate of individual attention that is typically found in traditional settings. We also partner with parents providing training and support


Academics
Harbor Academy serves students who need a highly structured, individualized context in which to learn. Our strong academic curriculum includes multisensory teaching methods delivered in small learning center settings. Students at HLA are able to develop learning styles consistent with the strengths of their own minds through consistent processes and careful observation. We have achieved this goal since we focus on students’ gifts and abilities.
This is NOT a self paced or reduced version of schooling.
Goals and expectations are designed for instructing students on many levels. In fact, gaps of learning are discovered and addressed from years of inattention. We teach students HOW to learn and perform their best.
Throughout the year, we evaluate student’s assessment, course achievement, career interests, and growth to ensure their individual program and current goals are adjusted.
Work/Study Curriculum
Harbor Leadership Academy offers a comprehensive academic program, from developing essential fundamental and reasoning skills in our elementary students, to providing the highest levels of instruction to our high school students that gives them a competitive advantage in the college application process. Small classes, individualized instruction and curriculum provide a non-threatening learning environment that makes learning possible for Harbor students. As a result, our students have an opportunity to attain greater levels of understanding, which generally enables them to achieve outstanding scores on standardized examinations relative to state and national averages. It also prepares them for a achieving their best in a career.
Harbor Leadership Academy specializes in instruction for students with mild to moderate Learning Differences, ASD, Attention Deficit Disorders (ADHD), Processing Disorders, Short and Long Term Retrieval Challenges, Emotional Issues, Dysgraphia and other neurological barriers. We work with ACC and Texas Workforce Commission to help our students and young adults get qualified for programs that continue to help them flourish and achieve their destiny.
Not every student is destined for college, but it should be by choice, not because a student has not had the opportunity to be prepared. Everyone needs the skills to communicate, be goal oriented, and know how to learn. Our program helps our students obtain degrees, certificates, and or work experience that help them obtain confidence, independence and success.
